About Us

Founded in 1917 by E.J. Schonberg, the son of Swedish immigrants, Fargo Glass & Paint Company started as the Fargo Plate Glass Company with $10,000 in borrowed money and no prior experience in the glass business. Schonberg believed in honesty, hard work, and treating people well, earning the company the nickname “The Friendly House.”

Over the years, the company grew and changed its name to reflect its expanding products and services, becoming Fargo Glass & Paint Company in 1922. These founding values remain at the heart of everything we do, guiding how we treat customers and coworkers alike. In 2018, Fargo Glass & Paint Company became 100% employee-owned, reinforcing our commitment to sharing success with the people who make it possible.

Today, with 190 employees and four locations across the upper Midwest, we provide a full range of commercial and residential glass products and services, including installation of glass, mirrors, custom shower doors, automatic doors, storefronts, and curtainwalls. Our wholesale division offers specialty building products such as windows, doors, siding, roofing, deck railings, paint, blinds, flooring, and cabinets.

In 2021, we launched TurnKey Solutions and Development, LLC, a division focused on hospitality and commercial fit-ups, renovations, and ground-up construction across the United States.
